In this interdisciplinary project we will study molecular mechanisms of action of amphiphilic drugs, which are used in the COVID-19 therapy, on the lipid membranes of viral particles and cells infected by viruses. The relevance of the project is based on the fact that lipid membranes of membrane-containing viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, are still studied insufficiently. In particular, it is not known if lipid components of viral particles could be targeted by the drugs and whether it is possible to achieve selectivity of such targeting by utilizing different physical properties of viral and cell membranes. This work will be the first where these questions are addressed
