The law enforcement function of the state is one of the main ones that ensures the proper existence of society and the well-being of individuals in it. The development of Ukraine as a legal state requires a real affirmation of the principle of the rule of law, strengthening of law and order, ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens at the level of European standards. Important importance in the implementation of the law enforcement function belongs to legal instruments, in particular to administrative and legal support. In this regard, a deep theoretical understanding is needed to solve problematic issues of improving the mechanism of implementation of the law enforcement function of the state, its administrative and legal foundations, maintenance of proper law and order in society and the activities of law enforcement agencies.
