The object of the research is the public relations arising while detecting, preventing and investigating crimes in the sphere of economic activity and taxation. The purpose of the study was to reveal the theoretical and practical problems arising during the investigation of crimes in the field of taxation; to reveal the content of the criminal law and criminological characteristics of crimes in the sphere of taxation on the basis of the achievements of legal science, analysis and synthesis of the law enforcement activity of the controlling bodies, prosecutors and the courts of Ukraine, the analysis of domestic and foreign legislation. The research methods are as follows: historical and legal, formal and dogmatic (specially legal), comparative and legal, system and structural analysis, statistical, etc.
