The purpose of work consists in the development of the scheme of formation of regional ecological network based on the analysis of landscape and biological diversity of the region, the definition and mapping of its structural elements and components, natural regions, natural corridors, buffer and connection areas. The methods, used in the research: comparative-geographical, prognostic-geographical, cartographical, methods of GIS-technologies, statistical, balance method. The main results are: scheme of regional ecological network in cartographic and electronic form with an explanatory note; are identified key, connecting and buffer areas, natural regions and corridors, areas and objects of nature reserve fund, areas of high biodiversity, hydrographic network of rivers and artificial water basins and scheme of forest plantings of Zaporizhzhia region; were given the dimensional characteristics of the key elements of the ecological network and detailed description of ecological corridors and cores; proposals for the creation of new territories of NRF.
