Object of investigation is vortex flows. The aim is to find a physical and theoretical basis for drag reduction by coherent vortex formations. Methods are physical and numerical experiment. On the basis of the developed mathematical and experimental models of streamlined surfaces with vortex generators systems are defined by their parameters responsible for boundary layer control for drag reduction. Test mathematical modeling of non-stationary processes of formation of the vortex structure of turbulent near-wall flows on heterogeneous surfaces has been completed.
