The object of research is the processes and technologies to increase the energy efficiency of power supply systems with energy-saving semiconductor converters, renewable sources and energy-intensive energy storage devices. The subject of research is the characteristics of electric energy quality and energy efficiency indicators, operating modes and energy efficient control algorithms of semiconductor converters for intelligent power supply systems. The purpose of the work is to create scientific bases and practical recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of bidirectional energy supply systems operating on the principles of Smart Grid to justify the resource-saving component of their implementation in the electricity sector of the economy. Research methods - analytical review of open literature and abstract databases using methods of analysis and synthesis, using the provisions of modern power theory for the synthesis of energy-efficient control algorithms, simulation of power systems of distributed generation, empirical measurement of electrical quantities. The research report contains: study of operating modes of renewable energy sources (solar photovoltaic and wind power plants) in the Smart Grid power supply system; study of the peculiarities of the use of energy storage systems of different types; Research of topology of intelligent power supply system and control of its structure by means of semiconductor converters of the electric power; research of electromagnetic compatibility and development of energy-efficient control algorithms for semiconductor converter systems in Smart Grid.
