 Hypoinsulinemia-associated suppression of insulin receptor signaling cascades may have negative consequences in the development of pathological conditions associated with disorders of cognitive processes. Therefore, the study of the effect of chronic artificial hypoinsulinemia on the level of synaptic activity and short-term plasticity in the culture of hippocampal neurons is relevant. The participation of proteinkinase C in noradrenergic modulation of currents through potential-directed calcium channels in trigeminal ganglion neurons has been studied. The paper considers the physiological properties of neurons of the superior cervical ganglion and their pathological changes in the conditions of diabetes mellitus.
