In the course of the 1st stage of the research, the concept of "professional digital competence of a teacher of a higher pedagogical educational institution" was introduced into scientific circulation, different from the purely "digital competence" category; acquired further development of the concepts of "digital literacy", "digital competence", "digital culture", "digital educational environment", "digital environment of scientific activity"; a general hypothesis was formulated regarding the search for a complete set of interconnected structural components of the system of professional and digital competences of a teacher of a higher pedagogical educational institution, adequate to the specifics of his main professional functions; the author's reference model of the system of professional and digital competences of a teacher of a higher pedagogical educational institution was built; improved scientific ideas about the professional competence of the teacher of the higher pedagogical school, the pedagogical professionalism of the teacher, the psychological and pedagogical support of his organization of distance and mixed education of students in unfavorable conditions - martial law and pandemic, post-war times; Factors influencing the modeling of the professional training of a future teacher of a higher pedagogical education institution in the conditions of their digitalization are determined: national-necessary, paradigmatic-methodological, theoretical-practical and valeological-psychopedagogical
