 The aim of the research is to illuminate issues related to technological development and the overall technological level achieved by ancient societies of the Northwest Black Sea region during prehistoric and early historic periods. Specifically, it concerns the set of technologies available to ancient populations and their genesis, or origins. It is important to highlight the dynamics of technological innovations and their clustering in terms of production types. Moreover, to achieve correct comparisons, these issues should be examined in accordance with general technological and formational epochs.
