 The object of research is samples of Japanese cold weapons; structurally similar products (souvenir products), samples of bladed weapons manufactured with the imitation of features of Japanese bladed weapons (counterfeit samples of Japanese bladed weapons), structural elements of Japanese bladed weapons; bladed weapon design elements made in imitation of Japanese bladed weapon design elements (fake Japanese bladed weapon design elements). The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for the study of Japanese cold weapons, which belong to cultural values that have artistic, historical, ethnographic and scientific significance.
