 Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in combination with hypertension had significantly (P>0.05) higher levels of diastolic blood pressure, average daily, daytime and nighttime diastolic blood pressure, and increased peripheral vascular resistance compared to the group of patients with hypertension. The use of therapy in the form of a combination of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and long-acting calcium antagonists allows achieving target blood pressure values in most patients. Additional training of patients in the "School of Diabetes and Overweight" regarding diet therapy, physical activity, self-control of glycemia and blood pressure allows achieving lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure values during home and daily outpatient blood pressure monitoring.
