 The research topic Development and Use of Software Tools for Analyzing Social Processes in the Context of Social Distancing” focuses on scientific approaches to research in social practice, defines basic concepts, value and ethical aspects of research activities. The research methods are characterized in the context of four groups: methods of scientific cognition, sociological, psychological, and mathematical and statistical methods. For each group of methods, the author substantiates the expediency of implementing practical tasks that involve not only the formation of basic research skills, but also encourage self-analysis in terms of the acquired empirical knowledge and research experience, as well as the improvement of their professional competence in the field of digital communications.
