Goal: To study winter wheat lines in competitive strain test and to select the best genotypes by combination of adaptive traits. Results: By means of intraspecific hybridization between winter wheat ecological distant forms 1560 hybrid combinations have been created. When using intensive and targeted selection, valuable breeding material being resistant against group of diseases and environmental stresses and possessing improved yielding potential, grain quality and stability has been developed. Since 2008 high intensive varieties Monotyp (valuable wheat) and Madiarka (strong wheat) and since 2009 Myrliena (strong wheat variety of intensive type and universal usage) have been included into the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukraine. High productive lines from competitive strain test, namely Lutescens 53178 with improved frost resistance and winter hardinessз as well as being able to form stabile yield under various environments, Erythrospermum 54704 with high bread-making quality and Lutescens 54734 with complex disease resistance - are planed to be submitted to State Strain Testing for 2011.
