The research topic was carried out in in these areas: the problems of imperialism in modern times, national problems in Russian Empire in the late nineteenth - early twentieth century (in particular, Jewish question); ideological foundations of US foreign policy in the latter third of the XIX - early XX centuries., the study of little-studied issues of history World War I (daily life during the war, captivity etc); problems of the revolution and the Civil War in Russia (1917 - 1922); socio-political struggle in the USSR in the 1920s and 1930s; the process of Sovietization Bukovina and Bessarabia in 1940 - 1952; social problems, 4 national and political development of Romania in the interwar period; problems of democracy and nationalism in the political and social development of Eastern Europe in the twentieth century. Much of the collected and analyzed by teachers of the department factual material and scientific generalizations introduced to the educational process, in particular, used to write 3 methodical recommendations and manuals for normative and special courses, which are taught at the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations Chernivtsi National University.
