Description

The research of the genesis, features and course of ethnic, religious, national, social conflicts in Europe in the modern and contemporary times was conducted. The public reaction in Canada to the violation of human rights in the Ukrainian SSR, the issue of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932–1933 in the European context, the repatriation and emigration of displaced persons after the World War II, conflict situations in Polish-Ukrainian relations in Galicia in interwar Poland, the situation of national minorities in Austria-Hungary, the Jewish question in European politics of the first third of the 20th century, ethnopolitical conflicts in Central and Eastern Europe in the first half of the 20th century in public opinion and politics of Great Britain, the development of Muslim communities in Western Europe, etc. The historical prerequisites and possible consequences of interethnic and cultural-civilizational conflicts along the lines of “in-group” and “out-group” have been studied. Separately, russian military aggression against Ukraine was in the center of research attention.
