The negative changes in demography lead to changes in the structure of morbidity, including the increase of chronic diseases. All of this increases the need for pharmaceutical professionals and increases the requirements for their qualifications. The development of science, technology, production, as well as the emergence of new marketing tools, lead to changes in the practice of distributing medicines and their consumption by patients. All this leads to significant changes in consumer expectations, and also forms the demand for advisory services and new roles of pharmacists. In the last two decades, the focus has been significantly shifted from dosage and drug delivery to counseling patients directly at drugstores: identifying needs, helping to choose the optimal set of medicines, preventing illness, etc. At the same time, the deterioration of business conditions in Ukraine, the change in the rules of drug trafficking, and the outflow of medical workers abroad lead to a significant shortage of specialists and an increase in the burden on those remaining pharmacists and pharmacists. As a result, pharmacy establishments are having difficulty choosing and retaining workers with the necessary qualifications. The working specialists, on their side, face constant congestion and stress, as a result of which they often leave the profession. The influence of the above factors substantially changes the pharmaceutical practice, and therefore there are new requirements for the system of professional training of pharmacists. Assisting students in choosing a career path that meets their needs will help future professionals fully realize their potential, as well as reduce the probability of professional burnout. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-10 Close
