They were accompanied by wars, uprisings, annexations, etc. Russia’s current war against Ukraine is characterized by a new feature – hybridity. All this requires the elaboration of theoretical and methodological foundations for creating a new type of geographical atlas. So far there are no such scientific works in human geography on this issue. The fundamentals of «Military and Political Atlas of Ukraine» creation include the elaboration of an extended Atlas Concept and twenty sections of its program. The beginning of the atlas provides a justification of methodic and methodological foundations. In particular, the historical and geographical periodization of the development of Ukrainian society (twenty periods) from the polis-states of Ancient Greece on the Black and Azov Sea coast to the Russian-Ukrainian war from 2014. Each period considers the external and internal circumstances of geopolitics and geostrategy.
