Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The main goal of the work is a comprehensive study of mechanical properties and establishment of physical mechanisms of inelastic deformation under conditions of moderate and deep cooling of a number of modern constructive and functional materials: high-entropy alloys, nanostructured metals and alloys, polymer nanocomposites. The relevance and importance of the work is caused by the fact that these materials are promising for practical applications in modern industrial production, in particular, in the aerospace, medicine and electronics, energy and cryogenic engineering. Physico-mechanical properties of the new materials differ significantly from the properties of well-known traditional materials, so their study is an important problem of modern fundamental crystal physics and materials science which needs further attention and development. The work envisages obtaining new experimental data and theoretical developments as a result of studying the mechanical, micromechanical and acoustic properties of a number of new materials in extreme conditions of low and ultralow temperatures, starting from 0.45 K; establishment of physical mechanisms and patterns of low-temperature plastic deformation, elastic and inelastic properties of these materials; establishing the influence of structural and morphological parameters on the processes of elastic and inelastic deformation of modern structural and functional materials in the field of low and ultralow temperatures; study of deformation, temperature and time stability of nanostructured metals and alloys created by methods of severe plastic deformation; study of degradation of mechanical properties of polymeric materials under the influence of space factors; creation of a reliable reference base on the properties of the newest structural and functional materials at low and ultralow temperatures, which is currently lacking. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
