The research covers a wide range of new nanomaterials and nanostructures based on carbon and silicon, in particular: arrays of partly ordered “metal” or “semiconductor” carbon nanotubes / bundles, reduced graphite oxide (graphene), composite materials consisting of a non-conducting dielectric or polymeric matrix and carbon nanoparticles or nanotubes, multilayer silicon oxide nanostructures, being promising for functional applications in nanoelectronics and photonics, sensors, solar cells, etc. It is also planned to investigate semiconductor nano- and heterostructures based on the gallium arsenide and silicon-germanium compounds Si1-хGeх (1 ≤ х ≥ 0), being currently the element basis of up-to-date nanoelectronics and nanooptoelectronics, with a view to improve the functional characteristics of devices based on them. The structural imperfections (intrinsic structural defects, inhomogeneity of spatial distribution of the nanocomposite components and spread of nanoparticle sizes, difference in the layer thicknesses and residual deformation in heterostructures, etc.) arising in the process of nanosystem fabrication and under the action of ionizing irradiation will be investigated. The main attention will be focused on studying the influence of structural imperfection on the processes of charge carrier transport in the external electric and magnetic fields or by diffusion, as well as to the processes of light absorption / emission. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
