Experimental studies of the interaction of electrons and positrons with crystals in the field of energies up to 1600 MeV were carried out in NSC KIPT on electron accelerators LAE-2000 and LAE-300 up to 1993. During that time, a modern experimental infrastructure was created, research methods were developed. The practical significance of these studies was that it opened up the possibility of creating intensive sources of gamma radiation in the range from hundreds of keV to several tens of MeV, which can be used for scientific and applied research. The relevance and scientific significance of these studies is confirmed by the fact that according to the results of research, the staff of the institute became winners of state awards of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. After stopping the accelerators in 1993, the research was continued as part of international collaborations at CERN, the Jefferson Laboratory (USA), the MAX Lab Laboratory (Lund, Sweden) and others. To continue these studies in the NSC KIPT in the previous project (2021-2022) was created an experimental complex based on accelerator LAE - 300 for electron energy up to 30 MeV, as well as the necessary infrastructure, including detectors, appropriate electronics, collection and processing systems data. This allows to conduct experimental basic and applied research, as well as training of specialists in the process of their practical work on modern installations. It is also planned to create conditions for further increase in the energy of accelerated electrons from 60 to 100 MeV The scientific program at this complex includes research in the following areas of physics: - nuclear structure and nuclear reactions; - nuclear astrophysics; - interaction of radiation with mat popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
