Registration Date 11-05-2022 Organization Institute of Philosophy the H.Skovoroda National Ukrainian Academy of sciences popup.description1 The main problem of the proposed study, the understanding of which will determine the content of the work, will be to clarify the essence of the pragmatic turn in the broadest sense of its meaning (as an appeal of philosophers to life-practical problems, as opposition to the previous speculative subject) and in the narrow sense (as attempts to synthesize analytical and continental philosophical traditions). The study will also focus not only on the practical and theoretical significance of the evolution of ideas and methodological principles of pragmatic turn, but also on its boundaries, ways of further development and alternative projects of modern philosophizing. (Hillary Putnam, Richard Rorty, Mike Sandbot, Albrecht Wellmer, Wolfgang Welsh, etc.). Consistent clarification of these problems appears as the main idea of the study and depends largely on the answer to the question of whether existing projects of transcendental pragmatics can be considered as sufficient to address many practical and philosophical issues, as quite successful rational strategies to legitimate norms and values. And, secondly, to explore important ways to overcome practical normativism, which ignores the benefits and values of human existence, by further seeking a synthesis of analytical and hermeneutic traditions of philosophizing, research on intersubjectivity, the phenomenon of truth within discourse and lifeworld, comprehension of the meaning and ways of filling the transcendental argument with concrete content. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
