The usage of the scientifically substantiated programme of the professional gender competence of the officers of the security and defence sector of Ukraine facilitates the improvement of the officers` organisational culture level. The study is intended for the formation of the professional gender competence of the personnel of the security and defence sector of Ukraine on the grounds of the realization the tasks of the state strategy of providing equal rights and opportunities of women and men for the period up to 2030 (the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of the August, 12, 2022 № 752). The programme usage gives the opportunity to improve the capacity building activity that has the aim to influence the individual’s consciousness, to increase awareness, knowledge and practical skills and habits on gender issues by sharing information, experiences and techniques in the military environment. The officer`s ability to create the gender-sensitive environment which is based on gender equality is considered to be the essential level of the officer`s professional competence alongside with the proper special, methodical and psychological competencies.
