That is why the controlled decrease in the intensity of metabolism and body temperature with the help of a hypoxic-hypercapnic environment (HGS) is an evolutionarily consistent mechanism for reducing the frequency of age-related pathology and prolonging life. An important and still unsolved problem remains the selection of such conditions of HGS, which would ensure the maximum decrease in the intensity of metabolic processes with minimal trauma to the experimental animals. A successful solution to this problem would open perspectives for the recommendation of the studied model of hypometabolism for subsequent clinical trials. Along with previously tested "hard" models of HGS, which showed high efficiency of their application on laboratory animals, it is planned to study the possibility of creating more "soft" models of hypometabolism and hypothermia. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
