The current state of the national economy and individual enterprises is accompanied by underutilization of production capacities, accumulation of excessive stocks of materials and finished products, reduction of the number of employees, decrease in their qualification level and labor productivity, and other negative phenomena caused by dynamic and unpredictable changes in the external environment, which naturally leads to loss of potential. It is in these processes that resources (their optimization, rationalization, etc.) play a very important role, especially in conditions of their limited availability. It becomes a priority to substantiate the resource capabilities of business and strategic directions of their increase for the effective formation of the competitive potential of enterprise development in the strategic perspective. Accordingly, the issues of not only a correct comprehensive assessment of the enterprise's potential, but also, on its basis, the development of options for economic growth of enterprises by increasing the relevant types of its potential, which are the basis for effective competitive development of the enterprise in the strategic perspective, become relevant.
