The Center for Studies in History and Culture of East European Jewry at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy holds the personal archives (manuscripts, publications, letters, documents, and photos) of ten Jewish writers who began their careers during the Soviet era: Yitsik Kipnis (1896–1974), Motl Talalayevski (1908–1978), Boris Khandros (1923– 2006), Moyshe Pintshevski (1894–1955), Dore Khaykin (1913–2006), Yikhil Falikman (1911–1977), Natan Zabara (1908–1975), Rive Balyasne (1910–1980), Aleksandr Lizen (1911–2000), and Yosef Bukhbinder (1908–1993). The primary focus of the research will be on the epistolary heritage of these writers, as correspondence comprises a significant portion of each writer`s archival legacy. These letters not only provide valuable insights into the author`s professional and personal lives but also offer a comprehensive view into the literary process and cultural environment of the Jewish creative community in Ukraine and the Soviet Union during the second half of the 20th century. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
