The development of a methodology for determining the ballistic characteristics of protective materials using the energy concept of hardness. For this, a theory of interaction between a high-speed (kinetic) impactor and the target material will be developed. The mechanical and ballistic characteristics of targets from materials of different levels of strength and plasticity (aluminum alloys, steels, etc.) will be investigated. Experimental verification and correction of the developed theory will be performed.
