The study on the institution of statehood as one of the main signs of civilization, the study of cultural and social processes, the development and transformation of religion and its influence on state ideology reveal the essence of the medieval and early modern times. Analysis of the peculiarities of politics, culture and ideology of the Middle Ages and Early Modern times will help to clarify the origins of worldviews and the causes of inter-civilizational conflicts.
