And this is the time from the appearance of Taras Shevchenko's "Kobzar" in 1840 to the beginning of World War I. The lower chronological limit refers to the activities of the Cyril and Methodius Brotherhood, the upper one to the end of the pre-revolutionary period. The Old Rite had deep roots in the villages of the Podolsk province. It tried to fit into the social life of the Ukrainian village. It is planned to trace these processes throughout the 20th century. Modern identity had its roots in the religious life of the UGCC, which, in order to save itself from destruction by totalitarian Moscow, sought in the 20th century after World War II, reliance on the power of the Vatican as the center of the Roman Catholic Church. It is planned to study the insurgent movement, which testified to the Ukrainian village's mastery of the basics of modern national ideology, which occurred as a result of the struggle against the Bolshevik punitive bodies. M. Hrushevsky's contribution to the formation of Ukrainian identity was enormous. The goal is to identify and study both the historiographical and epistolary works of M. Hrushevsky and his circle on this issue. The problems of identity were also interested in the sixties in the conditions of increased Russification in the last period of the USSR. For this purpose, oral history will be studied. popup.nrat_date 2025-07-18 Close
