The aim of the research work is to study the properties of the electronic structure of complex multi-electron atoms and elementary (elastic and inelastic) processes of their interaction with slow electrons. Study of the fundamental features and basic mechanisms of such processes, study of the influence on their characteristics of various physical factors - multi-electron correlations, polarization and exchange effects, interaction of discrete states with a continuous spectrum, etc.
