Baklanova, кандидат с.-г. наук Registration Date 16-01-2026 Organization State institution "Mykolaiv State Agricultural Research Station of the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine" popup.description1 The project is based on the concept of using modern climate monitoring data on temperature trends, precipitation amounts, and the frequency of extreme weather events in the region to model crop growth and productivity; developing cultivation technologies that take into consideration drought tolerance and the ability of crops to recover after stress exposure rapidly; using different varieties and hybrids to increase biodiversity and minimize the risk of yield loss under climate change; implementing minimum tillage systems to conserve soil moisture and reduce the risk of soil degradation; and using crops for bioenergy production as an element of sustainable rural development. The development of adaptive models for cultivating phytoenergetic crops, particularly sorghum, Asteraceae species, and leguminous grasses, is becoming critically important in the context of ensuring food, energy, and environmental security. The introduction of drought-tolerant varieties and hybrids of phytoenergetic crops will allow stable yield formation even under declining precipitation conditions. The adoption of crops with deep root systems will reduce erosion processes and promote more efficient use of available water. The cultivation of perennial bioenergy crops may contribute to carbon sequestration in soils and reduce the overall climate impact of agriculture. Project objective: to develop scientifically grounded, integrated models for adapting phytoenergetic crops that account for interactions among climatic, soil, and agrotechnological factors under modern climate change, and to optimize their cultivation within agricultural systems of the Northern Black Sea region. popup.nrat_date 2026-01-16 Close
