This, in particular, involves: a comprehensive and thorough analysis of existing regulatory gaps and conflicts in the field of environmental protection and the use of natural resources; an assessment of the institutional capacity of authorities, law enforcement institutions, and the public in resolving environmental issues; a study of the requirements and trends of EU environmental law and policy (environmental protection objectives, provisions on nature restoration, monitoring standards, impact assessment, environmental management and control, circular economy, climate change adaptation strategies, etc.) and their harmonization with national environmental legislation; identification of effective mechanisms for legal support for the restoration of soils, forests, water resources, and biological diversity, taking into account the latest financing instruments and mechanisms for stimulating nature-oriented solutions; development of proposals for digitalization and openness of environmental data, improvement of emission and permit registers; formation of a new Ukrainian ecological and legal doctrine and development of an environmental treaty; ensuring security in the face of modern challenges and threats; bringing guilty persons to legal responsibility for ecocide and other environmental offenses; compensation for environmental and climate damage, loss of ecosystem services caused by the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation; fulfillment of Ukraine’s international obligations on environmental protection, etc. popup.nrat_date 2026-01-30 Close
