Information × Registration Number 0126U001160, R & D request Title High-performance radiation portal monitor detector with a neutron channel for monitoring unauthorized movement of nuclear materials Head Gennadiy Onyshchenko, Кандидат фізико-математичних наук Registration Date 01-02-2026 Organization Karazin University popup.description1 The main goal of the project is to develop and study the parameters of a model of a highly sensitive radiation portal monitor (RPM), which includes a high-performance detector based on a high-performance scintillation detector ZnWO4 (ZWO), which uses the neutron cross-sections of the ZWO scintillator nuclei to increase sensitivity to fast neutrons and gamma rays, reduce size and weight, and increase sensitivity to neutrons in the resonant energy range. The use of specific properties of ZWO scintillator nuclei and the single-electron mode of the photoelectron receiver (PER) makes it possible to increase the sensitivity of the detector due to the effective registration of cascade low-energy gamma quanta from inelastic scattering reactions, resonant, radiative capture and low-energy photons (~100 eV) from excited scintillator molecules and, thus, this will make it possible to create a compact RPM that can simultaneously measure both gamma quanta and fast neutrons. popup.nrat_date 2026-02-01 Close
