Aim of the work: Study of neurohormonal mechanisms underlying pathogenic effect of maternal stress on neuroendocrine control of reproduction and adaptation in the offsprings. Methods and apparatus: physiological, biochemical, morphological; spectrofluorometer, liquid chromatograph, (-spectrometer, densitometer, microscope, low temperature refrigerator. Theoretical and practical results: The results of the research demonstrates the developing alterations in protein composition in the specific brain areae, neurocyte nuclei volumes in the nucleus arcuatus and nucleus suprachiasmaticus, and in the brain metabolism of biogenic monoamines and sex steroids called by prenatal stress and exogenous steroid administration. There were found changes in age- and sex-related peculiarities of the hypothalamus-putuitary-adrenal axis at the discrete levels of regulation. The data obtained prove the role of adrenocortical hormones and testic ular androgens in pathogenesis of the prenatal stress syndrome, and should be used for its prevention.
