Aim of investigation - the studies of an influence of xenotransplantation of thyroid organ culture on morphofunctional characteristics of hypothalamic-pituitary thyroid system under radiation-induced and postoperative hypothyroidism. Methods of investigation - morphological, radioimmunological and radioisotope analyses. Equipment - thermostat, centrifuge, gamma-counter, deep freeze, scales. Theoretical and practical results - it was determined, that the thyroid organ culture of newborn pigs maintains ability for thyroid hormone secretion for a long time, with a positive reaction to thyrotropin; it was demonstrated that the intraperitoneal administration of 131-iodine in a dose of 0.555-9.830 MBq in Wistar rats results in a dose-dependent inhibition of thyrocyte functional activity because of their destructive and degenerative changes, a strengthening of functional activity of adenohypophyseal thyrotropic cells and also a dercease in thyroid hormone level of blood serum: it was revealed that the xenotransplantation of newborn pig thyroid organ culture leads to the normalization of total thyroxine and total triiodothyronine concentrations in blood serum and in rats that were received 131-iodine in a dose of 2.775 MBq and also to an opposite development of changes in the thyroid gland, the adenohypophysis and some nuclei of hypothalamus (small cell neurocytes of periventricular part of paraventricular nucleus and caudal part of arcuate nucleus), a degree of which is dependent on thyrocyte functional activity of xenotransplant; it was shown that thyrocytes keep characteristic morphological properties for 30 days directly in xenotransplant and the proliferative processes and follicular neoplasms were noted too; it was shown xenotransplant ability for active radioiodine accumulation circulating in blood of rats with radiation-induced hypothyroidism; it was determined that a degree of hormonal compensation of postoperative hypoth yroidism did not significantly depend on a number of the thyroid glands of newborn pigs, from which the xenotransplant of organ culture was received, and a region of xenotransplantation of human thyroid organ culture. Newness - results of investigation are significant addition to scientific data concerning a mechanism of therapeutical effect of the thyroid xenotransplantation under persistent radiation-induced and postoperative hypothyroidism. Field of usage - experimental and clinical endocrinology. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-03 Close
