The aim of this work is to elaborate unified conseption on mechanism of fracture of solids that should include all hierarchy of structural levels of fracture - from elementary acts of atomic bonds' break till macroscopic regularities of fracture in non-uniform stress and strain fields at presence of stress concentrators. New atomic model of fracture that is grounded on the criterion of density of elastic energy. Contrary to Griffith' model proposed one has clear physical essence and corresponds more precisely (stricly, rigorously) to experimental data. Results obtained have significant scientific and certain practice impotance and may be esed in further development of new theory of toughness of structural steels.
