To establish a database of the first Ukraine register of diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents; to develop new criteria for revealing factors of risk of development of IDDM in childhood; to develop methods of early diagnosis and treatment of diabetic complications. It has been created, for the first time in Ukraine, a database of the Ukraine register of children's diabetes mellitus, what will allow to perform a strict dynamic control of each case of IDDM among children's population of our country; to have a rational approach to the problem of providing the patients with medical care and medicinal preparations (first of all, with insulin), hospital's beds, foodstuffs; to increase the efficacy of social reh abilitation of patients. - It has been developed new criteria for early diagnosis of vegetative cardial neuropathy, disturbances of cerebral and peripheral hemodynamics in children with IDDM; a new method of treatment of diabetic angiopathies (laseropuncture) has been proposed.
