The purpose of the research work is associated with the auxiliaries a reliability augmentation of power plants. The principles of construction of automatic diagnostic of electric motors and checking the state of insulation of the feeders without their switching-off are advanced. Fundamentals of the theory of construction of a troubleshooting digital protection of electric motors are offered. The mathematical model of a system of auxiliaries is designed in view of insulation. The laboratory researches of the operational condition carried on a test engine with the damaged rods of a short-circuit winding were conducted. The technique for detection of damages in electrical motors is proposed. The necessity of applying fast-response automatic connection of back-up power supply with putting into synchronism in a system of auxiliaries of electric power plant is proved. The additional stand-by protection of the unit is designed and implemented at electric power plant. The prototype of troubleshooting protection from ground faults was manufactured. The converter device of analogous signals and input of the digital information in PC is designed. The results obtained are recommended for implementing at the thermal and nuclear power plants, and also at the industrial enterprises.
