Activization of activity of local administration, involvement of citizens in the process of political decision making at regional, urban and national levels, increasing of the number of political actions, growth of attention to it from massmedia should be mentioned. Much influence on the process of formation and changes of the characteristics of political mentality is made due to structural characteristics of the city ( the number of residents, peculiarities of infrastructure), cultural, economic, political peculiarities of its development. The report testifies to the detalied elaboration of theoretical and methodical basis and methodical approaches the sociologocal analyses of the problem. Empirical data allow to analyze essential influence of soc ial and economic transformations in Ukrainian society on the character of changes of political culture. The main thing is the contradiction of the evaluations of political processes in contemporary Ukraine, power, not one-meaning attitude to the role of mass-media in the process of political communication. The most demonstrative elements of political culture, which is defined by the complex of the characteristics desribed is the electoral behavior (political identification, activity of people, who took part in elections).
