The objective of this work is a study of a degradation of coatings on steel with improved barrier and electrochemical properties in acidic and neutral corrosive environments and under cyclic mechanical loading as well. Methods of the investigation - electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning reference electrode techniques, scanning electron microscopy, study of gel-fraction content and chemical resistance, adhesion strength, film strength to strike. The degradation of epoxy and epoxy/petroleum coatings was studied in acidic and neutral solutions and in artificial rain water, which model a real condition of exploitation. A mechanisms of protective action of epoxy/petroleum coatings and chromate pigment, dispersed in epoxy coatings, were developed. It is established that protective action of the chromate pigment in epoxy coating is due to an increase in charge transfer resistance and passivation of steel surface in defect areas of the polymer coatings. A recipe of epoxy/petroleum compositions was developed and optimised and a recommendation for a production of new protective coatings with improved corrosion and chemical resistance was written. Possible branches of a use - chemical, petroleum and power industry Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-03 Close
