The aim of work is the research of the properties of the human perception of optical images, development of algorithms and mathematical software for image enhancement, modeling, recognizing, coding and compact representation of information. Mathematical and computer modeling, parallel processing, image processing theory, pattern recognition theory, calculating mathematics are the methods of investigations. The theoretical base of image enhancement using new definition of contrast having the properties of metric space are designed. Computer algorithms and new algorithms for synthesis of fractal images, its visualization are developed. These algorithms are implemented in software and in specialized processor architecture. New methods of preliminary image processing for edges detection of defects, image transform algorithms, methods for synthesis high-efficient specprocessors of preliminary signal processing in nondestructive testing, m ethods and calculating structure for increasing efficiency of image summation for quality enhancement of x-ray TV testing are designed.
