The purpose is to elaborate the theoretical basics of optimal designing of ultrahigh productivity flexible rotary-type machining systems. Cutting fprces, chip ratio, cutting temperature and real underformed chip thickness can be experimentally studied under skiving conditions by means of special designed experimental system based on 6P13Ф3 milling maching equipped with 2C42-65CNC. Moreover, the original scanning electron microscope methods of machined surface roughness and tool edge radius measurements have been also elaborated. An analysis of relation between mentioned above and cutting conditions has been performed. Carbide tool wear and fracture mechanisms have been also studied under down-feed skiving. Methods and algorithms of FE modeling and head-transfer processes under unsteady-state skiving have been elaborated. Complete testing of these has been performed. Based on this model the process analysis has been carried out. Basic pr inciples of automate rotary0type machine designing have been formulated. It has been shown that utilization of both batch technique and quick-change systems in automate rotary-type machines allow to increase an efficiency of their utilization in large-scale and batch manufacturing significantly.
