The following aspects are considered: 1) the theoretical bases of martensite forming in the alloys of Ti-Mo, Ti-Fe and other systems; perspectives of using martensite as the main stage in the thermohardening of titanium alloys; 2) general peculiarities of high-strength state (with sufficient plasticity) forming during heat treatment of the commercial titanium alloys; 3) phase and structural transformations and their influence on the base mechanical properties of experimental titanium alloys created on the base of materials which are abundant in Ukraine (Fe, Mn etc.); 4) systematical investigation of processes proceeding at high-temperature creep of commercial titanium alloys with aim to establish the influence of their microstructure and chemical composition on creep resistance; 5) investigation of the possibilities of forming states with high physical and mechanical properties by means of non-traditional methods of powder metallurgy and rapid heat treatment in titanium intermetallics.
