Ukr. Acad. Sci., trees and shrubs of urban phytocenoces and also plants of new species, first involved for the trial and the conditions of the Donetsk Botanical gardens. The aim of the work is a search of the most adapted species of arboreal plants under the conditions of the south-eastern Ukraine and the development of methods for their introduction into cultivation. The opportunity of introduction of 480 new species and 250 forms of arboreal plants has been grounded. 240 new species have been introduced, the collections were supplemented by 75 new species and cultivars. Introduction study of 30 generic complexes enabled to determine their adaptive variation and perspectiveness for introduction into urban plantations. The phytocenotic activity of arboreal plants has been investigated, their role in the creation of cultural phytocenoses being established.
