The main attention is paid to the processes associated with energetic ions, which are produced as a result of fusion reactions, neutral beam injection, and acceleration by radio-frequency plasma heating. Theory of energetic ion transport in MHD-active (exhibiting sawtooth oscillations) and quiescent plasmas is developed. The effect of energetic ions on the fishbone mode in spherical tokamaks and the neoclassical tearing modes in conventional tokamaks. The nature of the superthermal ion cyclotron emission from plasmas is elucidated. An interpretation of some experimental data is suggested.
