The object of study: patients with passive contractures of elbow, redressing orthesis. The branch of usage - orthopaedics, traumatology, cambustiology. The methods of investigation - clinical, radiological, biomechanical, physiologacal, modelling. The analysis of the basic approaches, technical deviecs and modern tendencies in the problem of conservative elimination of passive contractures of elbow is performed. Clinical, biomechanical and physiological origins of the creating of redressing orthesis for the treatment of elbow contractures are studied. The choice of material for arm and forearm sockets of redressing orthesis is substantiated. The construction and techology of the manufacture of redressing orthesis with special devices that allows to measure and regulate power relation between arm and forea rm sockets are worked out. The clinical radiological, biomechanical and physiological evaluation of the medical-technical decisions is performed on the base of using of the redressing orthesis for the treatment of 15 patients. Indications and contraindications for usage of the redressing orthesis in the complex system of the treatment of passive contractures of elbow are defined. Moreover, indications for usage of particular construction of orthesis in dependence of the character of limb damage and operation are given.
