A special purity raw material for growing CdZnTe crystals has been prepared. A design documentation for the growth set-up has been worked out, the latter being intended for growing large CdZnTe crystals by the vertical Bridgeman method from melt under high inert gas pressure. Unique models of these installations have been manufactured; CdZnTe crystals 50 mm in diameter and 100-110 mm long have been grown and examined.
