There are two removable cartridges in the training self-rescuer, ШСС-1Т1 model, one of which can be used only in the respirable atmosphere, i.e. in the rooms of the training stations to teach the rules of donning the self-rescuer and to train for performance of donning operations during the period that is not more than 15 sec. The other cartridge is the regenerative one, which can be used for trainings of the mine workers being already taught in the "smoke-chamber", i.e. in the irrespirable atmosphere. The breathing circuit in the self-rescuer is the open one, if the first cartridge is used. It means that inhalation and exhal ation of air are made from the environmental atmoaphere, but breathing resistance is simulated as in the principal self-rescuer, ШСС-1 model, in spite of this. In the second case (when the regenerative cartridge is used) the breathing circuit is the closed one. It isolates the mine worker from harmful influence of gases from the environmental atmosphere and supplies the man with breathing oxygen during 15-20 min. In this case not only breathing resistance is simulated as in the principal apparatus, but also the temperature of the inhaled air and its humidity. Duration of the training self-rescuer in the irrespirable atmosphere (in the atmosphere of the "smoke-chamber") is 15 min until the CO2 content in the inhaled air will be 2.0 %. In this case breathing resistance and temperature of the inhaled air satisfy the requirements of the general leading documents. The experimental lot of the training self-rescuers has stood the reception tests and is recommended by the commission to serial production.
