It was shown to be fruitfull to screen for strains with elevated level of DXR production among DNRr-mutants and DXRr-mutants has perspective in view of search for overproducers of both antibiotics. S. peucetius mutants resistant to increased concentrations of glucose has been obtained. It is perspective to use these mutants for selection of anthracycline producers. 6 S. peucetius strains, that have enhanced rubomycin (daunorubicin) and doxorubicin production and more efficiently transform rubomycin to doxorubicin, are transferred for maintenance to Museum of strains-producers of antibiotics and other biologically-active compounds at Ivan Franko National University of L'viv.
