Karazin popup.description2 The object of research are surfaces of planet satellites, in particular, the lunar surface. The purpose of work is investigation of parameters of light backscattering by surface regoliths of planet satellites and prognosis of regolith chemical content of the lunar surface from Clementine lunar mission data. The techniques of investigation are computer modeling and digital image processing of the lunar surface images. Shadow-hiding effect is studied for particulate media, consisting of opaque spherical particles with Lambertian scattering phase function. The present computer modeling allows geometric optics calculations of the photometric characteristics of layered particulate media with accuracies better then 1%. The computer modelling results are compared to Mariner 10 data derived for Mercury surface. Varying the parameter of model we obtained a good agreement in the longitude and latitude brightness distribution over the disk of a Mercury. A comparison of the photometric images, obtained by Clementi ne, with the lunar spectrophotometric catalog by C. Pieters was made. The comparison shows differential and integral differencies between Clementine and telescope data. It was found that the albedo of lunar surface, obtained by Clementine, is greater in 2-3 times after reduction to a same phase angle. It can be seen a stripness in Clementine mosaic. The estimated stripness, i.e. albedo differencies is up to 10% and is concerned with drift of equipment sensitivity through two one-month cycles. Images of distribution of maturity degree and content of iron and titanium over the lunar surface were made by Clementine lunar mission data.
