Karazin popup.description2 The research was aimed to the calculation and analysis of the exergy stream of the metamorphism of the Donetsk basin coal. The state of the coal on the different stages of its transformation was analyzed and the exergy on the stages of bed, production, enrichment, thermochemical processing and coking was estimated. The investigations included the calculation of the new thermodynamic function, namely, the coal exergy, with taking into consideration not only the first, but also the second and the third laws of thermodynamics. The methodology for calculation of the exergy stream of the coal as applied to the different technologies and the coal physical and thermochemical processing has been designed for the first time. The method for esimating the efficiency of the treatment of the coal was proposed. Also, the examples of the enhancement of the efficiency, of the different stages of the treatment have been done.
